HP's marketing department must be suffering from a shortage of suitable marketing opportunities lately. How else would you explain their decision to 'sponsor' safety cameras!
As part of a safety initiative in Dubai, HP's logo will appear on all the cities safety cameras located on its notorious highways. Quite what message HP think this sends out is difficult to fathom. The 'drive safely' message is to be welcomed but the decision to associate themselves with a device that is almost uniquely loathed not just in Dubai but everywhere else is odd in the extreme and unlikely to improve their image amongst the populace at large!
So what do you think, if multi-nationals were to sponsor UK cameras what would your opinion be? _________________ Darren Griffin

Nice going HP, you (allegedly) discontinue the iPAQ hx4700 and now you’re sponsoring speed cameras.
I’ve 1, 2, … rather a few HP iPAQs and I’d hope my money would be better used than sponsoring a speed camera. How about just concentrating on further R&D and getting WM2005 out for the iPAQ hx4700!

Easy, boycott all of that company’s products!

Did anybody at HP with spare marketing budget think that sites like this could use some help?
We certainly wouldnt turn down the offer of the latest range of PDAs to test with... _________________ Mike Barrett |

So now drivers are going to slow down and look carefully every time they pass an HP advert. Is there method in their madness? _________________ Barry Davies

I seem to remember reading that Dubai appointed IBM to help them install GPS devices in every car to monitor usage and speeding.
Perhaps it's HP's way of getting back at IBM!!

HP are not that dumb are they....
Originally they sponsor the dreaded Speed Cameras in Dubai, it gets picked up by some person or some small news agency, then ends up going global.
All that free world advertising, on the back of a story that they are sponsoring Speed Cameras, in the Desert.
Priceless................... |
