problems with calibration

hi,

i`m trying to calibrate an os survey map into ozi explorer.

I`m using streetmap to get the lat/long information but i`ve tried untold times today and my gps position is always slightly out. In slightly i mean about 1/2 mile.
Any idea what i`m doing wrong? or anyone seen a good tutorial about making maps for ozi explorer. I tried the one in their support site but hasnt helped.

Hi

I think you are probably using the wrong map datum. When you go into calibration mode you will see the "Map Projection" selector. For UK OS maps the projection is probably BNG (British National Grid). However, check on the map you scanned - it will be there somewhere.

When you load your waypoints you should find they are now correct.

My dive club has had some wonderful map datum issues in the past - and when you are out at sea looking for a wreck - a few hundred feet makes one heck of a difference. :D :D
