When I add a new camera using the CamerAlert App, there doesn't appear to be a way of setting the camera heading. The resultant camera is just given a ransom heading which isn't related to the road.
Any idea anyone? |

That’s weird. Using the app to report a new camera happens on the move, when you tap the camera reporting icon. AFAIK that sets a marker at that location which picks up the road details. During the subsequent reporting process you identify the camera details and select “this side, other side or both”, which grabs the heading from the road details. I’ve never experienced this getting the heading wrong so I’m at a loss to understand how it can go wrong for you. _________________ Dennis

Your current heading is used (hence the option of 'this side' or 'other side'.
I also manually adjust the heading when processing the submission.

So, the key words are "current heading", you have to be on move, right. If you just walk to cam and submit the location, the heading can be random (or the heading of your walk". |

That's correct. It's designed for driving.
If you tap the camera icon it will log the heading and coordinates. Then when you pull over safely you can fill out the rest knowing that the key details are there.
But as I said, I manually check each submission so will correct any odd headings (based on submitted comments, voice notes, photos, streetview data etc). |
