Ordnance Survey has come a long way in the last decade or so. Originally it was the premier map company in the UK, with pricing that many considered far too high for average personal users coupled with restrictive licensing it made easy access to maps quite difficult. This has all changed over the years, so much so that the OS not only sell paper maps, but they now have apps and promote the use of digital mapping software and products to mass markets.

However I must admit that a smile crossed my face with a recent promotional email suggesting that the Ordnance Survey have now branched out into 'Camping Essentials'. No doubt with the festival season starting they have diversified their product lines. One useful product they sell is OS Locate so at least you can pinpoint where you are in the camping field at the rave!!!

OS Locate is actually a free app. My experience of the Android version is that it is very good at what it does too, simple, fast and effective.
