Nokias Dragons Adventure game uses real GPS data

A free game, DreamWorks Dragons Adventure, available for Windows 8 smartphones and tablets, uses Nokia's HERE Maps data to overlay the game with landmarks and points of interest from the real world.

It's an interesting use of GPS technology. Google have their 'Ingress' game which similarly uses GPS map data in the game but this is an altogether more immersive and clever use of the technology.

If you have a Windows 8 tablet or smartphone, head on over to the Windows Store to download the game for free.

I had to read it twice, as first it looked like windows 8, and smartphones, but looks to be only for windows 8 smartphones only, not for iPhones or Android.

Off to specsavers for moi methinks :D :D :D

Heh. Guess they already know where I'm driving. Not sure what they mean by fictional though. It's an isle of berk, in a sea of berks, I'm telling ya!

I'll get me coat.

Oh, and it says "Get Windows 8.1 to run this app." at that link.
