My.ViewRanger.com has a new feature, automatic route planning. Joining the tools already available on the website, automatic route planning uses a number of routing engines to analyse terrain and rights of way and offer the optimal route.

The new tool also takes into account whether you are on on/off road, on foot or on a bike.

"Automated route planning using our web service came out as the most popular service enhancement requested", said ViewRanger CEO Craig Wareham.

The automated routes can be fine tuned and synchronised with your mobile device for use with the ViewRanger app. A short demo can be viewed on YouTUBE and more information can be found at my.viewranger.com.

Hi Darren,

I was looking at this last year, and have the App on my phone now. It downloads open source maps as I scan around from viewranger.

I have an App (can't remember the exact name now) that allows me to pre download a certain amount of Ordnance Survey maps as part of the licensing agreement.

Is there a way to allow viewranger to use these maps, or do I have to stay with theirs, or purchase their premium maps?

Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100.
