The keener cyclists amongst us will be familar with the wide choice of cycle computers that are available but, until recently, dedicated GPS units have been very thin on the ground with only Garmin having a foothold in this market.

Now Mio have launched the Cyclo 300, a satnav aimed at cyclists. The waterproof body houses a 3-inch LCD Touchscreen, a SiRFStarIII GPS and 4GB of memory alongside a battery that provides up to 12 hours of use.

The unit comes pre-installed with United Kingdom (Great Britain & Northern Ireland) mapping. It provides bicycle friendly routing and also offers a car mode, handy if you are transporting your bike to the start of a bicycle trail. The Cyclo 300 also records speed, distance, altitude and calories burnt.

At a list price of £299.00, it'll only be on the Christmas lists of the keenest cyclists.
