Mac OS X App Satellite Eyes

Here's a nice little app for the Mac users amongst us. Satellite Eyes sits in your menubar and automatically changes your desktop wallpaper to a map of your locality.

If you open your laptop in a new location, the wallpaper changes to show you a map of that area. The app features a number of different map styles including the delightful watercolour map style from Stamen Design.

Map data is sourced from Bing and OpenStreetMap. It uses the Location Services feature baked into OS X. This uses a database os Wi-Fi locations to calculate your location. You will need to grant Satellite Eyes permission to access Location Services when it is first launched.

It's a great applet and is available to download, completely free, from the author, Tom Taylor's website. Hit the source link below for more details and the download.
