Garmin's Forerunner 920XT tries to tick every possible feature box in an attempt to take the crown among GPS sportswatches.

The latest in a long line of watches popular amongst athletes, the Forerunner 920XT has a high resolution colour LCD display, Bluetooth and supports both GPS and GLONASS GPS networks as well as a watch mode, so yes, it can even tell the time!

Amongst a long list of data that it can track are steps, distance and calories with a user defined daily goal and reminders to get up and move. It can also track your sleep and the Bluetooth allows you to receive notifications such as SMS messages, email and caller details when connected to a smart device.

There is full support for swimmers. Alongside a 5 ATM water rating, the 920Xt can record swim drills, kick sets, swim distance, pace, stroke type, stroke count and SWOLF score. For runners it logs cadence, vertical oscillation and ground contact time and also features a metronome with vibration and audible alerts to guide cadence training.

And for cyclists it has an altimeter for precise ascent, descent and gradient data during training and is compatible with sensors such as speed, cadence, heart rate and power meter.

The 920XT can connect to a heart rate monitor as well as a wide range of ANT+ sensors and can vent act as remote control for Garmin's VIRB action cameras.

This long list of features won't come cheap though. Available in Black/Blue or Red/White it will be available in Q4 2014 at £389.99 or £419.99 with the hearty rate monitor.
