The first ever fixed speed cameras on the roads of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg are expected to be installed in the latter half of next year.

There will be twenty five fixed cameras introduced which will be supplemented by six mobile cameras.

Luxembourg's Infrastructure and Sustainable Development Minister introduced a bill which stated its purpose was to: "carry out controls in hazardous locations where currently no inspection can be organised by police due to the layout."

The overall cost is reported to be approximately thirteen million euros with running cost of two million euros per year.

It is estimated that the cameras will produce a yearly income of around seven million euros.
