The average speed cameras on the A14 in Cambridge are set to be scrapped.

Highways England believe that an ongoing upgrade to the road will cut traffic hold ups and therefore the cameras will no longer be needed.

Local councilor Jane Coston commented: "Why put them there in the first place if they now don't want to have them? This can only be dangerous and what we'll get is the A14 turning into a race track."

She added: "The comparison is with the A1 at Peterborough with its three lanes which is a racetrack with people doing very high speeds."

That reminds me of the Referendum argument for OUT.

"Unelected Bureaucrats in Brussels tell us what to do"

"Unelected Bureaucrats in Highways England (or Westminster civil service) tell us what to do"

Spot the difference?
