I ordered a GO 1005 before launch to replace my GO 950 but then cancelled it when I realised that it might not be a good idea quite yet, but it's starting to look attractive again now the 3P POI issue is (nearly?) resolved.
However I would also require the following functions:
1. Compatibility with my my TT Bluetooth remote.
2. Mapshare.
3. TT Camera database updates (I like a belt n braces approach).
4. Genuinely latest maps (not just the latest one that works on GO 100x)
Can anyone shed any light on where the units currently stand on these? _________________ Device: GO 600, Live connected via iPhone 5.

1. Don't know
2. No Mapshare "yet"
3. No TT camera downloads "yet"
4. Latest (v865) maps work on the Go1000, but I don't think you'll get them via the LMG in the UK "yet"
Looks like I'm waiting a bit longer then...? _________________ Device: GO 600, Live connected via iPhone 5.

Speed Cameras do (read have just) updated on the TT 1000 - the are lots of additional spots, improved icons, etc. - to be honest, they work great now compared to just a few days ago (in terms of coverage and visual icon). Very impressed
LMG - I claimed mine and it updated fine, although I understand from on here that TT are no longer offering it - a new map update is due any day now, which they say will include te TT 1000 units _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Why change from a 950?
Is it mainly because the route calculations are slow?
I can still get a new 950 for £160, but thought the 1000 will have a better future?
Does the 950 fit onto a GO 1000 mount with same electrical connections? _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

No it doesn't the 1000 uses a totally new mount that is held together with magnets, works well in practice but can look rather unsightly due to the cable entry position compared to an x40/ x50 mount - Mike

533091 is the part number for the Brodit ball that works with most TomTom mounts once you take them to bits.
AFAIK I have only sent the following out to one forum member in the form of a PM, but cannot remember who! Here are a set of instructions that you might find "handy"
All thats needed is a Brodit Pro-Clip to suit your car and the Brodit "Ball" intended for use with the iPhone car kit, a torx size 5 screwdriver and a small Philips screw driver.
Start by removing the two size 5 Torx screws from the back cover of the Go-1000 mounting shoe:
With both screws removed which can be fiddly as they get held in place due to the magnets but they do come out. Using nothing more than your thumb nails part the two sections of the mount:
With the front cover removed you can also remove the large magnet, this is handy to stop those little screws from rolling around on the table and getting lost!
The rear section of the mount shoe is next to remove, using the small Philips head screwdriver simply release the four screws that hold it in place:
Push the black "collar" back towards the windscreen sucker to reveal access to the translucent ball cover:
Pull the translucent ball cover off the windscreen mount:
Finally pull the black collar off the ball, note this can be a little stiff but will come off with gentle force:
Now you start the process of rebuilding your mount on to the Brodit Ball:
First slide the black collar over the "ball":
Next is the translucent ball cover which is pushed in to place, look at the next photograph before pushing this part in to place:
Take care to make sure the keyway is in the correct position, looking at the picture you can see the small notch in the translucent ball cover at the six o' clock position, if you don't get this notch and key-way correct the mount will be floppy when built up:
Re-fit the rear portion of the mount shoe using the four Philips head screws, these need to be tight:
Fit the main magnet into the front cover before snapping the front portion of the mounting shoe back in position, once secure re-fit the two size 5 Torx screws in the rear of the holder:
Fit the Pro-Clip/ Brodit 1K mount in to your car, and fit the power cable supplied with the device to the mount, note in my installation the power cable is routed out of sight through the airvent which makes for a very neat installation devoid of cables all over the inside of the car:
Finally pop the unit on the mount and away you go:
