News: Garmin launch new Dash Cameras
Garmin have bolstered their range of drive recorders with two new models, the Dash Cam 45 and Dash Cam 55.
In addition to the drive recorder/eye witness functionality, the new units have automatic incident detection using a G-Sensor to save recorded footage, GPS, and advanced driver alert features including forward collision alerts and lane departure warnings.
The new models also support voice control enabling drivers to start and stop recordings without having to interact with the device. The Dash Cam 55 has a maximum video resolution of 1440p using a 3.7 megapixel sensor whereas the Dash Cam 45 supports a maximum of 1080p via a 2.1 megapixel sensor. Both feature 2-inch LCD displays.
It is also possible to use the camera to capture a 'Travelapse', a video capture of an entire journey that compresses hours of footage into a few minutes, a novel new feature.
Both models will be available to buy soon, the Dash Cam 55 has a suggested RRP of £149.99 and the Dash Cam 45 £129.99.
