News: Satmap launch the Active 12

pocketgpsworld.com
Satmap have launched the Active 12 Mapping Sports GPS. Building on the success of the previous model, the Active 10, the new model has a hi-res screen and hi-res OS mapping.

Other features include Bluetooth connectivity, a barometric altimeter and new and improved software.

The new display uses a 3.5" HVGA transmissive LCD panel with twice the resolution of the Active 10. Combined with Ordnance Survey's new high resolution mapping, available at 1:25k and 1:50k scales, the Active 12 provides enhanced clarity and detail.

Bluetooth sharing allows for wire free connectivity including peer to peer sharing between Active 12 units. Connectivity to smartphones and tablets is promised in a forthcoming update. The Active 12 also supports Bluetooth Low Energy sensors including heart rate monitors and cycling speed and cadence sensors.

Pricing is not yet available.
