News: Call For More 20mph Speed Cameras

London Mayor, Boris Johnson has been called to introduce a 20mph speed limit right across central London, with exemptions for some main roads.

This follows London's City area introducing the lower limit, the third borough to do so. The City has promised rigorous enforcement using average speed cameras.

The reduction is also being introduced on most roads in Southwark and Hackney, and Camden and Islington have voted for a 20mph limit.

London Assembly Green party member Jenny Jones said London should now follow Portsmouth's lead, which was the UK's first 20mph city.
