News: Intel Announces Deal To Acquire Telmap

pocketgpsworld.com
Intel Corporation has announced an agreement to acquire Telmap, the location-based service and navigation company.

Telmap, established in Israel in 2000, provides location-based services to mobile operators. It's off-board navigation platform, local search and other services have proved popular with companies including Orange, Vodafone and O2 and it has become a world-wide player in a tough market.

Intel announced the deal yesterday in the closing keynote at its Elements event, in Seattle. Telmap will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intel reporting into their Software and Services Group.
