News: CoPilot Live HD heads to iPad 3G
 ALK Technologies have today annouced that their CoPilot's Live HD navigation application, specifically created for, and designed to take advantage of the Apple iPad 3G's screen real estate, has been approved.
For those who weren't aware, only the 3G variants of the iPad are equipped with a GPS receiver.
There has been some debate about the suitability of the iPad as an in-car navigation device but if we set aside the concerns for a moment it is clear to see how well this would work in large trucks, motorhomes etc where space in the cab is less restricted.
ALK are the first company to produce a dedicated iPad solution but there will doubtless be many more to come. Taking full advantage of the large screen and operable in both portrait and landscape modes, Live HD offers all the features you'd expect including pinch to zoom and 2D/3D modes.
