News: Spanish Tunnel Vision?

pocketgpsworld.comFollowing quickly on the heals of this week's announcement that the Spanish Department of Traffic have installed 264 temporary mobile traffic cameras on 2000 stretches of its roads, Spanish motorists are facing yet another reason to slow down.

BarcelonaReporter.com have reported that despite Spanish government figures that show 80 percent of accidents occur on Spain's secondary roads, the authorities plan to pilot an average speed camera programme in the decidedly primary route of the Guadarrama tunnel.

The Guadarrama tunnel forms part of the corridor that connects Madrid to North Western Spain.
