News: Philips Net TV - TomTom Channel

pocketgpsworld.comNot an obvious news item for PocketGPSWorld at first glance. Philips recently announced a range of Internet connected TVs and it would appear that one of the services being offered is a TomTom Channel.

A Net TV allows you to browse the web from your armchair using your TV remote with websites being specially tailored for viewing through a TV. These channels are in the IP-TV format which makes them viewable at the distance commonly used for TV''s which are viewed further away than computers.

So far the list of channels includes YouTUBE, eBay and a few lesser known others but the appearance of TomTom is interesting if not altogether surprising when you consider that Philips is a Dutch company.
