Subscribers: Mobile Camera Purge - SOONER THAN INITIALLY PLANNED!
**APRIL FOOL** This is of course an April Fool Joke. The Mobile Database is here to stay.
Further to the announcement of 14th March regarding removal of inactive mobile sites from our database, I have now been charged with informing you of our current stance regarding the mobile sites in the PocketGPSWorld.com camera database.
The decision has been made to cease provision of the Mobile (and pMobile) files with the database as of tomorrow's release. We are making this announcement now so that you can make sure you have a copy of the last set of mobile files should you wish to keep using them - just to clarify, they WILL NOT be available as of tomorrow's database release.
I can assure you that this is a decision that we have not taken lightly but one that we feel is necessary in order to maintain our position as the most accurate camera database in the UK. The sheer number of mobile submissions was getting out of hand and we have received numerous requests to remove mobile sites from the database that simply do not exist. Mobile sites, by their very nature, are practically impossible to verify and we have had to act now to keep the integrity of the database under control. Obviously we know that there will be a number who will disagree with this decision but our current belief is that this will be a small minority - you can be assured that any points you raise will be looked at.
