	NavTeq Announce Two New Traffic Enhancements for Europe NavTeq have announced two new traffic enhancements for their mapping data in Europe. Real-Time NavTeq Traffic is, as the name suggests, real-time traffic data that provides the actual speed at any given location at any time. This will allow devices to use a ‘Fastest Route Now’ setting when planning routes. This will likely be first launched in Spain sometime this year. Secondly, NavTeq Traffic Patterns contain statistical data of traffic speeds at certain times of the day. Routes can then be calculated according to how much traffic is likely to be present on the roads at that time of day. One would assume that devices would need to start adding a ‘Time of Departure’ feature too! NavTeq Traffic Patterns will initially be available for the UK and Germany with further expansion already underway.
