Thanks Kremmen for that.
I still wonder though if I did something silly. What would happen if I pressed the "Recover CSV Base files" before I unzipped the Database ?. The reason I ask is because it is dark green when the Direction Converter programme is started and all the colummns are blank.

Now you have it working properly, do one of two things.#
a. Put it down to a data glitch from PGPSW which it appears to be as Dales saw it too and forget all about it until (if) it happens again. (BY FAR THE BEST OPTION)
b. Try your suggestion above and report back.
c. I can't count.

At the moment I do have time to sort out any glitches.

The Direction Converter was specced out by Dales and I haven't had any bug reports for years on that so I leave well alone.

The CSV Converter also hasn't had any bug reports for ages but I am concious that there may be some Direction Converter to CSV Converter things/oddities that may well be there.

Anything Direction Converter related must go through Dales for analysis and final say so.

But is seems that there is nothing wrong with either of them, unless you want to trap for every possible data error. Confused

That was my thought, one incident isn't a problem.

Thanks

Thought so .... and I've reproduced the error.

Download database, unzip, process.

Unzip again and process.

If you keep unzipping and processing you can get multiple Latitude lines.

It's not deleting the existing CSV files on an unzip.

Program fixed and with M8 for QA.

This problem has been there since the year dot and is a coincidence that 2 of you have double unzipped and processed before going to the CSV Converter.

I did think it might be operator error but I have to say that managed to find a bug in the programme. It has certainly awakened my brain.
Thanks for your understanding and sorting of the problem.
Keep up the excellent work all of you.
Must pay my subs now !!!

Look M8 ...

... if the Krem (of the Krem)
wants me to break his program, then I will try and oblige !

... although it did take me a while to replicate jonial's procedure (I'm truly sorry for the delay).

Subsequently I did achieve an Error 13 out of the new version on first install, but I cannot now reproduce it (although not from lack of trying !).

Dales.

During fault analysis, with M8 TeamViewer on my machine, I was able to produce files with 2,3,4 consecutive lists each with their own header and footer in each file.

The Direction Converter has to open and close each file and append to it as it works its way down the single long master csv file.

By not deleting any existing csv files at the start it was appending to existing completed files.

Once the CSV Converter got at them, it changed the csv files to gpx so no csv left.

What happens now is as soon as you unzip the new file(s) the display fields will turn white as the csv's are gone, temporarily.

In the bugged program the display fields were still green during the download and unzip as the csv's still existed.
