According to that Beds police with only 256?

Beds police published list shows 53126 speeding offences in 2018. This does include around 15000 by Highways England on the M1 and trunk roads.

A lot of these cameras were funded by the councils, so not sure if the Police would be the jurisdiction, even if the fines do go to central coffers?

Councils do not prosecute speeding offences even if they provided funding for the camera so the results are the same...........

a course - or a FPN - or court.

The Beds list is interesting to me as I know every location very well and I wonder why some cameras are more "successful" than others. One camera has only one result and only 27 have double figures

The breakdown of the Beds list shows 16808 took a course compared to 31570 who paid the FPN.

Really surprised with the Wiltshire and Gwent figures. For many years they headed the process list but seems they've somewhat mellowed (if these figures are to be believed).

Though Surrey police, for example, handle a lot of the M25 tickets in the whole of the south-west and western portions of the M25, taking in the Berks and Bucks sections, so may skew the figures a little. There may be other examples, too.

Even so, interesting to note that Avon & Somerset are at nearly twice the number of the next nearest, though some of the missing forces' numbers may fill the gap.
