Can anyone settle an argument please. In Harefield the road has been resurfaced recently and white lines repainted without the small markings usually seen by cameras. There are the new digital cameras at the locations. Are these cameras actually active and do the lines have to be there?
Thanks |

Aha! The council, or whoever, have now spent money painting beautiful markings by the cameras now. Sheame they haven't bothered to fill the potholes. |

With the camera revenue they can repair the road so more will speed through the camera _________________ DashCam:

If there are no road markings at a camera, how can an appeal be made against excessive speed? There have been cases where pictures have been examined and found to be in the favour of the defendent, presumably because the speed can be calculated by using the time stamp on the pictures and the markings in the road. for those that say cameras are accurate now, what about the faulty one reported on PGPSW last week? http://bit.ly/2MrEmSd _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

I guess it would depend on their government type approval. If the submitted details stated that a photo would also be used for prosecution then yes, you'd need the lines. Some cameras don't have the lines (specs) but still have type approval as they must use other forms of evidence as their backup.
Back to the case in point, if it normally had lines then I would make the assumption that this type of camera needs lines in order to prosecute.
Question is: do ya wanna risk it?!
