I am looking to buy a Vauxhall Astra, with built in sat nav.

Has anyone got any opinions, good, bad or indifferent about them please?

Is it reliable? User friendly? Does it use traffic, similar to TomTom?

I have very little experience of built-in SatNavs. What I have seen have been considerably overpriced and under featured when compared to dedicated SatNav PNDs or smart phone apps. However on the flip side built-in SatNavs should integrate well with your car.

Another point is although you may be told that the built-in SatNav will take custom POIs and allow you to set proximity alerts for those customers POIs, you all need to ask for precise instructions to confirm that you can actually do this.

Don't buy a car just for its built-in SatNav! Buy the car for all other reasons and tell the salesman that you prefer to use your own SatNav. If you end up using the built-in SatNav then so much the better.

I'm sure that you already know the above, but it's always worth a mention. Others with actual experience of the Vauxhall Astra built-in SatNav will add their experience.

Regards,
