I'm really sorry but I still haven't had chance to progress with my 1005 - it's been hectic and never having done it before I need to watch myself carefully. I haven't forgotten, just struggling to find the time. I had also hoped someone else with one might come in with help. _________________ Dennis

Then check that all the unzipped cameras are in there close down MyDrive Connect and remove the sat nav. I have done it this way for years (ever since buying my 1005. I don't think it is this, as I say its always after a Map upgrade. Can anyone help! |
Re-read the instructions, I don't think you should be unzipping!
I don't have one of these models, I'm just going from the instructions. _________________ Jock

Thanks for that JockTamsonsBairn that's very interesting I've always unzipped my files but as you rightly say or the instructions say nothing about unzipping so I'm onto it now thanks for that. |

I've had a nightmare getting the database installed - there seem to be two different versions of My Drive and the readily accessible one for me refuses to load the zip file. Anyway, having got it loaded at last I tried a demo run to test and got no warning for the two Gatsos nearest me. Both are 30mph and until you posted this I was feeling really unhappy. So now I will find another route with different cameras to try. Unfortunately I haven't got time to mount the 1005 in my van before I go out tomorrow so further testing will have to wait until I get back. _________________ Dennis

I actually found time to mount the 1005 yesterday and gave it a run out. There weren't enough cameras on my route to conclude anything.
Today I have driven into London. I completely agree with the OP that cameras on the 1005 are haywire. Some warn, some don't. Fixed, mobile, redlight and average speed are all affected. It's not one speed either - e.g. It warned of the fixed 60 outside Heston Services, but not the next one along. No warnings for the two fixed 40s approaching the raised section, but it did warn for a fixed 40 on the elevated stretch at junction 2 (or is it 3?). I also THINK the countdown to camera is not working properly - seems to lock in whatever distance it chooses and doesn't count down. It also seems to remain on screen for a short time AFTER I've passed the camera.
Completely random I believe. It puts me in mind of the time long ago when TT PNDs would only handle a limited number of POIs.
So one question is does anyone know if TT have sneaked in a crafty update for the 1005? Mine has been in its box for six months so I have no knowledge. I had never installed the Pgpsw database on it and when I got it out, it updated to latest map v980, then next time I connected downloaded v985. It was only after that I installed the database for the very first time on this device, so it wasn't a map update that caused it.
I've stopped in services and will now delete a lot of the cameras to see if that makes any difference. _________________ Dennis

Further update. Reducing the number of POIs didn't make any difference at all. Still completely random warnings for some and none.
We need more people to check this out on GO 1005s. _________________ Dennis

Today I drove from Swindon to Peterborough and then to Reading. All cameras were reported correctly on my 1005. |
