when im on a stretch of the motor the large blue arrow appears with direction and distance to next turning point and while pois make an audible sound i cant see what they are (usually service stations etc) is there a way to make this arrow thing switch to map to show the poi or maybe even disable it altogether (although its not a major pain)

thanks once again in advance Laughing

Presumable you mean the the safety screen is displayed. If that is so, loadup TT from the Navigator screen go to propeties and see what you have set for Safety speed. I have mine set at 72 mph.
Below that speed I am in map view, above it shows the blue safety screen

under the navigation properties it sayd 30mph
when i go over this it doesnt switch to "safety screen" only when on long stretches of road eg dual caridgeways and motorways.

Ill adjust the speed up to a higher level and test it

ps will this affect any warnings safety cameras >?

If you have safety speed set to 30mph,you should get the blue safety screen at speeds above 30mph,and you always get the camera warnings.

i have mine set at 75 and it works first class

So that's what that does! Embarassed

Mine was set to a default of something like 126mph (TT2), so I set it for 80mph. I figured it was a warning indicator to let you know that you'd gone over a certain speed.

I take it the idea is to take away the distraction of the map moving?

I prefer to use it as a warning when exceeding 70 mph so have it set at 72. Below that i'm in map view which I like as it gives you an advanced view of the road ahead with regard to bends, road junctions etc. especially when on A or B class roads which you may not have travelled on before.

I must admit that I am becoming rather attached to the Safety Screen. I went for a run yesterday and purposefully set the speed to 5mph to see if it would still work without problems (late voice instructions etc) but it worked just fine. I like the very clear representation of impending roundabouts, junctions etc plus the safety screen has the advantage over the map view in as much as it states the name of the current road you are on. Think I will start to use it more.

I have my safety screen speed set to 30mph in Navigator 3 - as Navigator 3 has the feature where you get a sort of mini-map as you approach a junction on the safety screen.

I find that above 30mph a scrolling map is just unwanted visual distraction. An added advantage of the safety screen is that the ETA figures and the route summary can fit on screen simultaneously in the safety screen if you're using TomTom Traffic.
