Actually Dennis, I shouldn;t have stuck my nose in. I'm not likely to be around much next week to help so I'm happy to back off before Maggie replies.
Cheers.
EDIT - However, Reading maggie25's previous post, I think I know where the error may be:-
This is for LINUX
1) Start your TT and connect it to the PC.
2) Download the cameras & voice of your choice from this site onto the PC. Save the downloaded .zip file to either your DeskTop or the Downloads folder or anywhere else safe on the PC.
3) Open the File Manager on the PC, navigate to the downloaded .zip file.
4) Right click on the file and select *Extract Here*.
5) This creates a folder with the unzipped camera, icon and sound files. It shall have the same weird name as the download .zip and shall be in the same location as the downloaded file.
Double click this Folder to open it and reveal the unzipped camera, sound and icon files.
6) Press the F3 key on the PC keyboard to open dual pane view.
7) In the far left hand margin of File MAnager, click on the TT drive. (double click if single click doesn't work in Ubuntu)
8) Navigate to the folder containing the maps - normally UK&ROI.
9) Copy and paste the camera, sound & icon files from the PC to the TT into the UK&ROI folder.
10) Right click on the TT drive in the left hand margin, select *UnMount*.
11) Disconnect the TT from the PC.
12) Set up the proximity alerts and warning sounds on the TT as per the Windows help pages here. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

OK Maggie, it's tomorrow.
I may get called away, so perhaps this evening might be better. By the way, if you'd be happier with phone chat, PM me with your number where you can sit with the PC and the TomTom - I have a phone contract with unlimited minutes, so I could ring you to see what we can do. _________________ Dennis
Tom Tom & PGPS Cameras now fixed. A big thank you to Ali, ( I copied and saved your Linux instructions.) Thanks. Thank you Robert for all your input and a very special thanks to Dennis.
I was just about ready to bin my TT when Dennis suggested talking me through everything via phone. At that point the TT was giving up, freezing on the flash screen. numerous hard re-sets plus holding down the start button until the MB appeared were the only ways I could get it started.
Then along came Dennis. Sorted the TT and talked me through the downloading and installing the cameras. Quite challenging as our OS were a little different.
End result a TT that once again works perfectly and a test runs shows the cameras all working with perfectly perfect perfection.
Thank you all .. Your time and efforts were very much appreciated as was your knowledge & experience.
Being really concerned that my old TT will eventually want to lie down and die I am considering getting a new one that will still take 3rd party poi's (PGPS Cameras.)
Im not very keen on Garmin and TomTom will not be making the 3rd party option available any time soon so I have opened a new thread relating to this. Thank you all.
