Saving Itineraries

Can someone tell me how to save an itinerary in TTN3? I have been planning an itinerary through France using the Major roads of Europe map. So far, so good, the itinerary is fine. The manual (p14) talks about an Itinerary pop-up menu, with a save button. But I can't find this menu anywhere! It says this is accessed by tapping and holding the Itinerary list. What list? I haven't been able to save anything yet, so there is no list. Seems like Catch 22 to me.

Go to the itinerary screen via the main top menu. Tap and hold the stylus down anywhere (if not anywhere on one of the itinerary entries) until the pop-up menu comes up.
