I am glad to see others getting close to the "upto" speed on BT Broadband.
However my experience is a little different.
I 'upgraded' from BT Infinity1 to Infinity2.
I have a hardwired connection direct from the PC to the BT router with a 1 meter cable.
I am about 3 miles from the exchange, and quarter mile from the cabinet.
Yes I know that the actual route the cable takes may be different.
I checked the connection speed with speedtest.net.
At first I was getting about 36Mbps (from 32) download which was not much faster than Infinity1; but the instruction was that speed would increase after a few weeks.
Well a while later, the speed crept up 40Mbps with upload at about 10Mbps.
I did all the checks as advised on their website.
A few months later, wrote to BT customer services telling them that the initial test had said I would get around 60 and could look into it please? (of course I didn't expect exactly 60).
Got an shrug of the shoulder type answer back - basically saying everything is fine their end.
An "Everything is fine our end; Sorry and bad luck - not our problem - over to you" type message.
I am also a member of the SamKnows European broadband measurement service and get their monthly report for my connection.
The fastest connection I have ever had is ONE DAY at 44Mbps. The average is about 38-40.
Mainly my fault, but due to other commitments, I have not followed up on their answer - maybe I should start making a few loud noises now!
