I just wanted to give a big shout out to the guys who developed the GPSU software!! This is not an advertisment, I'm in no way connected to either companies but I'm just delighted with a better way to unlock the capabilities of the Active 10.

We're professional users of the Active 10 with 5 of them on our fleet. I'm well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the Active 10 (we have a collection of torn USB covers and buttons knocking around my desk) but its has been a huge assset in our engineering/environmental consultancy business. As a consultant all we have to sell is time and the active 10 has saved us alot of time in the field. We output survey and infrastructure outlines as trails to speed up navigation and cut down on time wasted = money saved.

Until I came across GPSU I was creating trails from autocad DXF files using a convoluted process which used 4 different pieces of software to get DXF's from National grid coordinates to long/lat in a form the satmap would accept. Getting trails from the Active 10 into autocad was the same in reverse. It took time and was fraught with nitty technicalities which limited my ability to delegate the process.

Now with the latest version of GPSU we can take an Autocad file to Satsync in one step! We can output infrastructure outlines as LOI's and habitat maps etc as AOI's. We can bring field surveys in .MAP or .GPX files straight from the satmap into GPSU and output the direct to Autocad as a DXF.

I'm at this work with many years and played with lots of different GPS bits of software but I wasn't able to get any of them to do things the way I wanted until now. The full version is very cheap in comparison to the time it saves and for a professional user is a no brainer

So a big thumbs up to Alan Murphy and his colleagues behind GPSU, I hope it continues to develop as well as it has to date Thumbs Up
