Driving London bound approaching Polish War Memorial, that side of A40 is a 50mph limit, though my TT showed national speed limit.
Did a map correction to 50, but then homeward bound, noticed Westbound is national limit.

Can a TT cope with this anomaly, which I think is fairly unusual??

As dual carriageways are shown as two one-way roads next to each other, it's OK for them to have different limits, road types or names/numbers. It's unusual to have them different for a great distance but it's not unknown.

The speed limits were dropped to 50mph for both sides of the road for the Olympics last year. Due to the extra use at the airport and it's use for vip traffic etc etc as I understand. There were also security checks of all the 'roadside' furniture.
After it was all over and everyone went home, the Westbound (Northbound some people call it - out of London) reverted back to 70mph just before the Polish War Memorial underpass.

However, the Eastbound - into London - remained at 50mph from on slip by the end of the runway. It is correctly marked, however most people ignore it and carry on at 70mph until just before the 50mph speed camera at the polish.

the A40 is a complete mess part 70 part 50 part 40 part 30 - police have been stopping people pass White City towards Marylebone flyover I guess for speeding -why this part of the road as been reduced to 40 is a joke
