I keep meaning to request a bit of help 'cause I'm getting a bit frustrated.
When a camera is detected, the Red box comes up as a warning, but, instead of it only showing for a couple of seconds or so, far too quick, how do I set it up such that it remains showing until I literally hit the camera, maybe 500/1000 yards away?
It disappears far too quickly for me and I don't use the CamerAlert map option as I'm either using Sygic or CP8. Thanks. |

Do you mean when the red box pops up over the top of another app?
If so then these are called 'toasts' and Android only allows these to be 2 seconds at most. The default is 1 second but in the settings you can adjust this to be longer ('longer pop up alerts' or words to that effect).
If you turn on overspeed warnings then you will get a speed limit pop up if you ever creep over the speed jst in case you didn't see what the limit was.
Hope this helps?

So, what is the shortest or optimum distance from a camera should I set the App up to, so that the 2 second Red Box displays as close to the camera as possible. At the moment mine flashes up and then I'm looking for a camera for the next .????? Or should I carefully set up CP8 and Sygic to somehow tie in with the red box ?
The overspeed warning bit is fine. |

Personally I have the camera warning set to 30 seconds with an extra 10 seconds for mobile sites.

Worth mentioning that if you set up the warnings to close to the camera, then you will have been pinged and if over speed you will get a ticket.
The red pop up warning (toasts) feature is limited by Android, like MaFt says.
My preference is to have my warnings set long, and then add another 20 secs for the mobiles. I know the red pop has been and gone long before I get to the camera, but it is my responsibility to make sure i adjust my speed.
Possible camera positions are usually bridges or laybys, so again you can mostly spot them.
Once you are past the camera location you get an "All clear" verbal from CA so you know you are past the camera.
Works for me, but everyone is different. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |
