I note that the review on this site has an icon for the pc on this page:

http://pocketgpsworld.com/menu_gpshardware3.php

but i just want to be sure that both of these models (4400, and 4410) can be used with a bluetooth-enabled laptop pc. can anyone confirm this?

is any special software needed? it appears that no software for the pc comes with the receiver. i was planning on using oziexplorer, and maybe the ENC version of fugawi. Will I have any problems?

Thanks.

The Navman Bluetooth receiver works fine with my laptop via a Blue Monkey CF card with Fugawi UK.

Any Bluetooth GPS Receiver that supports SPP (Serial Port Profile) will work on a PC, and you will need PC software. Something like InfoMap Navigator runs pretty good against a BT GPS which we also have a review of:-

You need to be aware that both the 4400 and 4410 are bundled units with PPC software (SmartSTv1 and SmartSTv2 respectively).

The BT 'receiver only' option is the 4100 currently available at £154.94 incl. VAT

It's certainly better than 5 metres most of the time but on the last walk using Ordnance Survey maps it was well within 5 metres.

In fact now I come to think about it, stood by a trig point the GPS put me right on top of it so I would say the accuracy that day was well within 3 metres.
