Hi,

I've had a GO1000 since they were first released and now it has got to the stage where the battery no longer holds any charge. It needs to be plugged in constantly and the second it is disconnected, it flashes up low battery and then turns off.

Once it has done this, when I next use the unit (a few hours later) it cannot connect to Live services. Sometimes if I reset the unit by holding the on/off button down it will restart and then connect but once the unit is disconnected again the whole process starts again.

Are the two issues related (i.e. traffic failing because of low battery) or are they separate issues? Is there any option other than replacing the battery?

Many thanks.
Neil

Agree thaat it sounds like a bad battery. Often the first thing impacted is indeed trying to get a HD traffic (and other LIVE services) connection. And, as well, the time taken to get a valid gps lock.

You people in the UK are lucky in that there are some repair shops specializing in replacing batteries and such in sat nav devices. We don't have them here in Canada. At least, I haven't had success in finding them, if they exist.
