Had some major issues today with Sygic.

On way from Dumfries to Cream O' Galloway the navigation stopped on leaving the A75 heading towards sandgreen.

this could have been because lost gps, but also noticed when wanted to route back to where i had come from which was saved as a favourite, all favourites had disappeared.

Also when wanting to route to location after losing 3g and wifi access it wouldn't do this and said needed internet connection.

Surely it should be able to route to an address without internet access

I've reported these to sygic so hope they sort

I'm not overly impressed with the latest update that Sygic have carried out. As you know from the previous thread (Sygic File Converter) there were problems being reported.

We see lots of grumbles about TomTom programming but at least it is easy to get into their file system and remove any additional data that has been loaded by way of POI's from external sites, whereas with Sygic I have only succeeded in managing the .rupi data, I certainly couldn't find the .bmp data when I wanted to delete some.

As far as this latest download is concerned, it has cost me some 3Gb of data allowance to update both my tablet and phone, only to find that the tablet suffers from a blank black screen on occasion when Sygic is activated unless I have an internet connection running.

You must switch off the auto updating in play store so the you can update it when you want to. Otherwise it does all the downloading when it wants to even if you are on 3G.
Have you got their traffic, which does require 3G. Otherwise it should run OK with no phone connection.
The .BMPs are in the res folder somewhere, but as I remember, they are a bit buried. They are in Sygic\res\icons\rupi.

Also there have been two updates within the last week.

I'm giving miner a driving test today, I'll report back.

Thanks for that M8TJT, I'll have another look in the Res folder.

Because I run a Mi-fi dongle in the car I don't allow any of my apps to auto-update and in respect of the double update last week, I ended up deleting the whole file and when reinstalled, found that the app size was minimal compared to the size before I did the uninstall. Rather weird in a way, it seemed as if the download just dumped itself into the system without modifying the existing data.

Good luck with your test today, at the moment I can't do that realistically as I am about to change cars and the relevant brackets have been removed in readiness.

i've been logging all issues with sygic and have been informed they are releasing another update this week due to the number of issues being reported.

would say if you have issues with the latest release then log it with them

today it's been fine driving around parts of scotland and it was good how it displayed the map so you actually saw the mountains and way of the road.
