Hi again... I didn't get a chance to check after a couple of hours, but when I re-checked the route past that camera just now, it was BACK to being a fixed camera.

EDIT: Now the original fixed camera is back I just tried repeating the entire exercise I did last night, but I accidentally tapped "No" when I was asked "Does this camera still exist?"

Cursing my stupidity, I restored the entire "statdata" folder from a backup I'd made last night (which put the original fixed camera back in place again).

But *now* when I get the "Does this camera still exist" (on the same route and camera you suggested) and I answer "Yes", the original fixed camera warning still remains, so I am NOT seeing the bug any more.

Maybe try the same thing and replace your statdata folder if you have a recent backup of it?

Thanks Andy for your hard work looking into this.
I also restored a backup again to get it working and left it at that.
Just not answering the Exist question until TT get back to me.

I might try again in a few days but need a good working unit just now.
I seem to have problems with the unit settling down after i have messed with the settings.

Hi Andy,

After driving around on jobs today i found,
1st journey had 3 fixed cameras.
reported as still there and they all turned to mobiles.
return trip in less than 1 hour they were all still mobiles.
that was in the morning.
checked tonight and all 3 have gone from the database with no type shown.
Another journey in afternoon with 1 fixed camera has same result.
All 4 i reported as active no longer exist on my machine/database.

Not sure if i connect to TT home and upload database they come back or not.

But if this is correct then every time someone confirms a camera it gets removed!

Telling TT support is a joke, too many stupid steps to get to report anything and then stupid responses to get to next level.

Hi,
Update,
TT have blamed the problem on the fact i ahve 3rd party cameras on unit!
I have tried their solution but did not work.
So i have tried this,

Trying new approach,
I have installled the latest release of TT home 2 onto a xp computer that has never had anything from TT on it.
(to give clean install).

I then formatted my 540 unit to delete everything on it.
I then turned off unit and then back on.

I then connected the 540 to my pc and using windows explorer i copied a backup of my 540 i have from when it came out the box.
I then reset device and let unit work as that.

I then connected 540 to TT home and got updates for unit including my map from TT.

Then i reset unit and tried operation.

If i connect to TT home for updates i am only offered the french safety zones and map share.

THE PROBLEM WITH THE CAMERAS STILL EXIST!

Back to TT to see what next.

Reply from TT,

We are currently experiencing issue with the speed camera. Please try after 2-3 days.

I regret the inconvenience caused.

Hi All,
Reply from TT today think that this problem has been resolved due to the fix of the speed camera/fuel download errors.
But this bug still remains.
This bug happens on any fixed camera i pass and report as still there.
It changes to a mobile and then after 3 hours it then gets removed all together.

Anyone else apart from me (and Andy) found this?

I really can't understand why we are discussing the shortcomings of the TT speed camera offering on the PGPSW forum Shocked Burn In Hell

I can. Smile

Anyway, we're discussing the TomTom software... it's nothing to do with their camera data itself.

Actually, that's irrelevant ... this is the 'TomTom' forum section, not the 'PGPSW speed cam' section, so anything TT related lives here.

I now give up trying to get TT to deal with this!

Last response from TT is,
When ever you click on "yes" for the prompt " Does this camera still exists", it is considered as a mobile camera. Every such report for a Live device will be reported as a mobile Speed Camera. So I suggest you, not to report it.

The issue here is that, it is considered as mobile camera and mobile cameras gets deleted after 3 hours.

Yeah thats what iam telling them!
So to fix it i stop reporting them!

I've now been assured it will be fixed in the next release.
