Is it possible to change the distance at which POIs display on a nuvi2340? At the moment my POIs only display when map scale is at 200 feet which is ideal in a town. However I visit some rural POIs out in wilds of North Wales and it would be helpful if they showed at say 500 0r 800 feet distance.

How long have you got to learn .GPX ?
Within the .GPX framework there is a 'proximity' setting which could go down to that sort of level if pushed.
Have a look around for a tool that will work with your POI's and convert them to .GPX
(Don't use mine as that only works with cameras)
It is difficult so I prefer MaFt's answer _________________ DashCam:

POI's that are built-in to the map, have two parameters associated with them, that specify the min. and max. zoom levels at which they display. Obviously those parameters are set when the map is produced. There's normally a Map "Detail setting" which might influence their display though.
In the case of Custom POIs, POILoader doesn't provide a mechanism for setting these parameters directly. However, Custom POIs with Speed Alerts set tend to be displayed at lower zoom levels than normal. So, if you were to set speed alerts of 124mph on them (124 is the max. value), you might get the desired effect. (An easy way to do this, is to add the digits "124" to the filename of the CSV or GPX file that is input to POILoader).
Unless you're a biker, you're not likely to actually trigger the speed alerts
