I have tomtom xl live. when I try to extract the poi files to the device I have two folders appear in the device file list one named Western Europe and one named Europe West. Which folder do I extract the files to.

It sounds like you started with a Western Europe map when you bought the device, but then you updated the maps and the new complete map wouldn't fit.
So you had to opt for one of the "zoned" versions (i.e. Europe West).

If Home sees any personal content in the old map folder while it's updating, it tends to leave it there, just to confuse you later....

You can double-check by going to Preferences / Manage maps / Switch map. That will tell you the name of the map you're now using.

I'm 99% certain it will be Europe West.
