Got the chance of a TT go 730, which is BRAND NEW, boxed, and has been modified to have the latest 2012 maps on, (Inc Europe.) and it also comes with an new sd card with TT truck on it.

Should I go for it, as it works out cheaper than a Snooper, which I think isn't all it's cracked up to be, or because of the age of the model itself, should I avoid it?

If it is brand new I'd say "yes", definitely worth considering it. But as it has been updated, how is it brand new? If you can and before you buy, a good indicator would be to see how long the battery holds the charge for.
I'm sure that you are aware that the 730 has not been manufactured/sold for several years now and that it does not have the latest features such as HD, Live, Internet Search, etc. but it does have other features like Itinerary Planning, mp3 player, file transfer, etc.
Depending on what you want, that may be a good or bad thing.

Well I currently use a TT One V3 Western Euro flavour, and I've just updated the latest Navcore and Western Euro map this morning, but as it doesn't have an sd slot, then the TT truck is a no no. (So far.)

As my unit is immaculate, with the box and all the gubbins, and now up to date, with the latest PGPS speed camera database, I'm thinking of selling it to buy the 730.

Decisions decisions......

This 730 isn't a hacked unit, is it? (the regular 730's weren't able to use the Truck maps in the past, the proper application wouldn't allow it).

Just wondering.....

There was a 730 truck version, as I've seen a box with it written on, so I guess that the car model is a watered down version of it.

The guy selling the 730 has updated it with the latest Navcore and Western euro map, (In probably the same way as what I have done with my current unit.) as well as putting the truck software on an sd card

Took it out this afternoon on a test, and it works a treat. Very Happy

The newer map is a bit more compressed, so therefore leaving more room on the internal memory. With that, I'm now looking to see if I can get TT Truck for the One V3, and as most of the files seem to be only 2.7mb, then as long as my system works with it, then it could be happy days.
