Hi All

Been having no end of trouble on my 940. Every time i connected to home it put new software on, then on reboot it would just keep start up looping and never boot up. recover from backup and all is ok.

Anyway today i decide to delete everything from device and format drive. rather than recover from backup i just connected to home. It went through an install and updates and finally it turned on and seemed to work.

The only folder ive recovered from backup is the western (cant recal its name) folder that contains camera database and cfg file that contains favourites.

Anyway it seems to working fine even connected to live. The only thing i seem to have lost is the text to speech function i use when setting up warnings for the pgps speed cameras. the only option it gives is the inbuilt sounds.

Anyone know what i need to set or copy from backup to get this function back.

Hope that all makes sense

AFAIK the TTS voices don't work through the TT Home interface, they are only available on the device when it is running on it's own - Mike

you are clearly right Mike. The device had defaulted to Jane and id forgotten that you need a computer voice for text to speech to work. The strange thing is the voice preferences icon does not appear while your connected to home, to be able to enable the text to speech.
think i need to make a list of things to do for the next time i need to default the device, which will inevitably happen.
Many thanks again
