I am having one of these fitted to my car as it appears to be the only fitted type of sat nav that uses TomTom.
Any one have any knowledge of it as a unit?

See one here http://www.sony.co.uk/product/ica-in-car-navigation/xnv-l77bt

Spec wise it ticks a lot of boxes for me but the reviews look bad. Especially the interaction with an iPhone and the interface.

Have to be honest - I didn't care it was hard to make calls - I try not to even when I'm not driving; accepting calls, I don't care about knowing who's calling I just answer any way - always forget to look at the screen on my mobile.
I can have an iPod attached and my phone by bluetooth, I hadn't considered needing more. God forbid I had more than one phone............

I looked at Pioneer but didn't like the fact that updating maps appears to need to go to a shop to get the update. The sony appears to be the only option with tomtom.

Hello

Think about fitting one of these to my new audi TT

Can the camera data base be downloaded and work with this head unit?

Seems to be the only Tom Tom map sat nav available?

Any help or advice would be appreciated

Regards

Hello

Have just fitted my new Sony XNV L77BT

Could you explain what I need to do, to use my camera alerts with this system?

ie what download (TomTom) and how do I copy the information to my device?

Do the Camera alert go in as POI's and if so do I have to pick each one seperatly?

Any help would be greatfully recieved. Very Happy

Regards
