It's probably me, but I do miss the old original Speed Camera data base that I used with TomTom...(in fact I took my old HTC Touch HD to N America recently, and it was refreshing to have it up and running again) since progressing to Android.
I suppose that my problem is 2/3 fold. I and running both CoPilot Live and Sygic together with CamerAlert.
It's all very well having the CamerAert red banner coming up on the screen warning me that a camera is 40 seconds away or whatever, but I then miss actually seeing it on the map that I am using....even though I've ticked the CP and Sygic cameras, but of course they only refer to their own cameras, which don't always tie in with CamerAlert.
I don't see anyway around this, as a long time novice, but I found it great with TT and to see the actual cameras coming in to view and to know how far away you were....far better I think than today.

There is an easy way around it with Sygic. I have the PGPSW cameras installed on my Sygic, and I have set them to show on map and also warn when near, but I set the warning sound (in Sygic) to mute. I have then set CamerAlert to launch Sygic on opening. So I just hit CamerAlert and Sygic opens up in the foreground with CamerAlert in the background.

This means i get I get a warning sound from CamerAlert only when I am travelling in the direction the camera works. I can then glance at the screen and Sygic shows where it is on the map and counts down the yards to it as well.

Thanks for that, but how would I transfer the 'old style' camera database into Sygic and/or CP ?

For Sygic you follow the guide at http://www.sygic.com/poi - you need to use their conversion software to create a .rupi file which you then transfer using iTunes.

Not with an HTC Touch you don't! Follow the instructions for an Android phone instead. Much easier with no walled garden.

Thanks all. Perhaps I should have made clear that it's my Android device that I need to try out the above instructions with Sygic...an HTC One X.

Oops! Sorry, I was thinking iPhone for some reason... Still, instructions are on the page linked!! Only difference is you copy the files to the device using Windows Explorer software instead of iTunes software.
