TomTom have removed the 1000 from their website, and the local Halfords have their two remaining (ex-display) units on sale
A new model on the horizon, anyone? _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Some months ago there were quite a few places selling them heavily doscounted on clearance - I was tempted at £104 IIRC in Argos but just missed out _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot

I think TomTom have belatedly (finally!) realised that they were storing up all sorts of problems for themselves by still selling devices with no SD card slot.
So they are trying to get rid of them quick. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

Well give them their due, they struggled for a long time to get the promised functionality to work, but now true to form they are moving on. The implication is that they have improved the performance, but it cannot be implemented on existing models. Hey, ho.... _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

Well lets hope they bring the new units with 6" hi-res screens like the Start 60 but with live services and more
...and any luck they announce the feature-set and availability soon _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Nah, it's got a 52" plasma screen that replaces your windscreen and the route is superimposed on the view from the forward facing camera fitted to the rear of the plasma screen.
If 1000 is dead and burried good ridance, at best it was crap, the forum swear filter won't let me offer my true feelings about that unit and the backward step in interface that came with it - Mike
