3590 LMT - Mapsource, Basecamp Question

Hi, after 5 years using a C510 Streetpilot i want to buy a 3590 LMT.
Is it possible do make tracks and routes with Mapsource or Basecamp and then transfer it into the 3590 ?!
When i buy a new SD-Card-Map (USA), can i use the map also with Basecamp or Mapsource...?

Mapsource is no longer supported by Garmin, and doesn't have full compatibility with some of the newer Garmins. Having said that I think it would do what you want on the 3590.

Basecamp certainly will, and has the advantage that it will read the maps directly off your 3590 and your SD card, whereas with Mapsource you need to jump through a few hoops to get the maps to display.
