|
|
Whilst I wait for TT's customer services to digest my ticket, I wonder if any of the gurus here have any thoughts/suggestions.
I have a 2.5 yr old TT950 Live with a subscription for traffic. About 2 weeks ago the connection to the live services stopped and I got the no connection symbol appearing in the bottom LHS of the screen. The device reports Error code 10 and "something is wrong with your SIM card". The network page just shows a "not connected" status.
I've done the usual factory reset and have the latest updates installed.
What is unusual is that if I operate the device from TT home it is OK - the SIM card shows as connected and I can access my account. Occasionally it will work once undocked but 9 times out of 10 it doesn't connect.
Anything else I can try? _________________ Kev

Well, after getting me to do the usual reset 3 times followed by a factory reset they have "reset the embedded promotion" and I can now use the live service again.
Pity I upgraded to the newest software in the process of trying to fix the problem and now have the horrible speed limit symbol appearing in the bottom LHS of the screen.
Any tips for putting back all my audible speed warnings without having to associate the sound file with each camera type? _________________ Kev

Both of those should be resolved by just restoring the backup you made before updating the software.
You did, didn't you? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Well, it worked for a couple of weeks, went into intermittent mode and now just won't connect to the Live service
TT have agreed to repair the unit FOC (replacing the sim card so they say - may get a refurb unit).
Guess I shouldn't complain too much (unit bought in Dec 2009).
[btw Andy - I did do a backup ] _________________ Kev

FWIW, when you operate it in Home, it is not operating on the device AT ALL. It is instead running a version on your PC, and the traffic updates are coming over your computer's internet connection. You can prove this by copying the TomTom drive contents to an SD card, and then you can remove the TomTom and it will still operate on TT Home.
This is useful for testing, but also to know that it isn't really working on the device. |
