On my 950Go Live the battery indicator shows bottom left just above status bar ONLY when NOT connected to any charging source (ie dock/car charger/PC). When connected to any of the charging sources then the battery indicator does not show.

On my lesser model, 550 Live, the illumination around the power switch on top is green when fully charged, red when not.

It makes no difference to me - I ALWAYS have it plugged into the car charger when driving - it's not designed to last very long and most journeys for me are several hours, it simply wouldn't stay alive all day (or even half a day).

Leave it plugged in overnight, then, don't estimate how many hours.
