WARNING - Nuvi 255 dead after software update

I have just downloaded new software via Webupdater and the device has died. it will not turn on via the button or when connecting to computer.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry no solution but to add, you are not alone - I recently updated my nuvi 1300T software and maps and same here, turns on but only displays Garmin logo - goes no further. Emailed Garmin, awaiting response but don't hold much joy as can reset either - holding the power button for a period does diddly squat!!!

Hi - thought I would update you, if you haven't be able to sort yours out. I contacted Garmin and told them my Garmin had packed up since the recent update and they have offered a replacement. So it is on its way back.

The unit is out of warranty but they stated since the fault was linked to the update and I could not do a hard reset they would sort it under a warranty.

How cool is that - thing is though I had little faith in the Garmin and so went out and bought a TT. I guess I will have a back up especially as it had life time updates for it.
