I think to be fair, this bug was new to the Nav3 line up of devices, and as they are all less than 4 years old, it was never going to have been discovered until a leap year occurred. Tomtom were VERY quick to issue a fix once it was discovered.

I can understand how frustrating this must have been, and I would be very annoyed if I were you, but this was a very specific and unforeseen set of circumstances. If leap year day was any other weekend other than easter weekend this year, you would not have noticed the issue and hopefully you would have seen the many update notices about a fix for a software bug being made available, updated your device, and thought nothing more about it.

Also, (at least according to TomTom) the dodgy bit of software wasn't even TomTom's... it was supplied to them by the GPS chip manufacturer.

I should say up front that I'm a Garmin man more than a TomTom man.

That being said, I agree that for this issue a fix was put out very quickly. Not only that, but it even got thoroughly tested by the beta team.

As posters mention at least a fix was quickly released.

Since doing the update my unit has been performing normally, and indeed saved my bacon on the M3 tonight!
