...and, just to add, that the mention in the Newsletter about some news on POIs IS a real thing. It's still work in progress but we hope to be able to announce something soon.

Ha ha ha! I just read this and also thought you were selling us all out to the devil! And I was here to show my Dad how to download some POIs so we were real p****d that it was sold to TomTom!

This is the only April Fool that got me, and it isn't even April Fools Day anymore!

This one was a joke, but I fail to see the difference between this joke and what was done to the speed cam database a few years ago. Wasn't it in essense the same thing, user supplied data was suddenly subject to subscription/cost?
